Nevada Brings Home the Carabao Award

Delegates from Nevada, Arizona, and Utah arrived in Colorado not as three states but as one Desert Mountain Region. NaFFAA National President Ryan Namata presented the Carabao Award to the delegation, led by DMR President Sally Balecha alongside Thelma Lassig of NaFFAA-Utah, Charmel dela Cruz of NaFFAA-Arizona, and Dr. Michael StaJuana of NaFFAA-Nevada.

Then came the talent showcase. Arizona and Utah opened with Manila’s latest craze, and Las Vegas followed with a full Vegas revue — Sonny & Cher, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Elton John, and Elvis himself. The judges did not take long. First place, by a landslide. Gloria T.
