The Citywide Unity Prayer in Las Vegas is a powerful monthly gathering that transcends denominational boundaries to focus on a single mission: the spiritual and social well-being of Southern Nevada. Founded on the belief that faith-based organizations are “stronger together,” this initiative brings together local pastors, community leaders, and residents to address the city’s most pressing challenges through the power of collective prayer.

When and Where We Meet

The Citywide Unity Prayer group gathers consistently to ensure a steady rhythm of spiritual support for the region:

  • Schedule: Every first Saturday of the month at 8 a.m.
  • Format: These hour-long sessions often rotate among various host churches throughout the Las Vegas Valley and Henderson, including partners like Balm of Gilead Global Ministries.
  • Special Events: Twice a year, the group co-sponsors the Citywide Unity Prayer Celebration in partnership with the Mayor’s Faith Initiative, featuring community resources and keynote speakers.

Our Core Mission: Prayer in Action

The Citywide Unity Prayer is more than a religious service; it is a catalyst for community change. The group focuses on “attacking the substratum issues” that affect the foundation of the city, including:

  • Reducing Violence: Praying for and implementing solutions to lower the city’s homicide and crime rates.
  • Supporting Families: Strengthening the family unit and supporting local youth education.
  • Addressing Poverty: Working alongside the Mayor’s Faith Initiative to tackle homelessness, addiction, and human trafficking.
  • Fostering Unity: Breaking down walls between different Christian denominations to serve as “turnkey boots on the ground” for those in need.
