Every September, Filipino social media fills up with the same joke. José Mari Chan peeks around a corner, and someone announces that Christmas has started. His 1990 hit “Christmas in Our Hearts” has become the unofficial anthem of the “ber months.”

This November, Las Vegas gets the real thing. Chan opens his “Pinoy na Krismas 2.0” U.S. tour here on Nov. 6, and it leads our short list of Filipino events in Las Vegas this month.

The timing feels right. Filipino American History Month just ended. In October, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign glowed red, blue and yellow for us, and the Las Vegas Filipino Short Film Festival wrapped up on Nov. 1. Now the community turns to gratitude, giving and getting ready for Pasko.
