Training program on resolving squatter issues thumbnail

MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices will host a program titled “Resolving your Squatter Issues in Public and Private Properties” on July 20, 21 and 24, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The program aims to protect your property from unlawful occupants and to efficiently utilize ejectment actions and provisional remedies available in the speedy recovery of your land or building to avoid further damage from prolonged dispossession. The lecture will include other special laws of great concern to land developers such as Republic Act 6552 (The Maceda Law) that governs sales on installment of real property, Presidential Decree 1517 (The Urban Land Reform Law), RA 7279 (The Lina Law), Tenancy Law, and more. It will also include essential updates on government initiatives against professional squatters and squatting syndicates.

This three-session training will be led by CGBP’s finest roster of lecturers that include Atty. Alvin Claridades, the author of 18 best-selling law books such as Land Titles and Deeds, Laws on Easement, Road Right-of-Way, Building and Setback, Agrarian Law and The Revised IRR of the National Building Code of the Philippines; Ret. Gen. Efren Fernandez, who has extensive experience in peacefully and effectively removing thousands of illegal dwellers and a former president and CEO of Public Safety Mutual Benefit Funds Inc. and undersecretary at the Department of National Defense; and Engr. Agustin Torres, who was part of the oversight committee on the crafting and implementation of the revised IRR of the Building Code of the Philippines and also serves as a program director at the CGBP and a consultant at the DPWH National Building Code Development Office and Quezon City LGU.

Registration is open to the general public.
