100 Las Vegas Neighbors in Recovery Need Beds, Clothes and Food — Here’s How the Community Can Help

About 100 Southern Nevada residents who had just started substance-use treatment have had their care disrupted. Hope Harbor of Las Vegas and Together We Give are now mobilizing an emergency community response in Las Vegas so those neighbors have a bed, clean clothes and a meal waiting when they arrive for continued care.

The need is immediate. For a community that knows the power of bayanihan, this is a moment when every family, church group and association can carry a piece of the load.

What Happened: Treatment Disrupted for About 100 Southern Nevada Residents

According to a news release issued September 22, 2026, most of the affected patients had only just begun treatment. Hope Harbor, a BHCEN-certified outpatient and co-occurring disorder treatment center on West Sahara Avenue, is preparing to receive them so their recovery is not interrupted.

Together We Give, a Las Vegas 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is coordinating the public response. Its job is to equip the receiving space with beds, bedding, clothing, hygiene supplies, food, appliances and other essentials before people arrive.

The Las Vegas Supply List: What Is Needed Now

• 50 twin-over-twin bunk beds
• 100 twin mattresses and mattress-support boards
• 500 twin sheet sets, waterproof mattress covers, pillows and blankets
• 500 bath towels and personal hygiene kits
• Men’s and women’s clothing sets, new socks and underwear
• 500 pairs of sneakers and 500 pairs of shower shoes
• 500 cases of bottled water and immediate food support
• 3 refrigerators and 3 freezers
• Pots, pans, serving utensils, disposable cups, plates and other food-preparation supplies
• Cleaning, laundry, storage and intake supplies
• Pet supplies, including dog food, bowls and solid-bottom kennels, as needed
• Transportation, pickup, delivery and assembly support for donated items

You do not need to fill a whole category. A single mattress, a box of hygiene kits or a truck for one afternoon of deliveries makes a real difference.

How Fil-Am Organizations and Families Can Help

Organize a collection at your association or parish

Provincial associations, parish ministries and civic groups can each “adopt” one line on the list, such as hygiene kits, towels or new socks and underwear. Then coordinate one drop-off.

Offer a truck, a driver or a set of hands

Pickup, delivery and bunk-bed assembly are on the list too. If your group has a van, a truck or a few volunteers with tools, that help is needed now.

Business owners: donate stock or sponsor a category
