A Legacy of Community Journalism

Founded as “The Valley’s Subototal, No-Dramatical Publication,” PTSNV continues its mission to inform, uplift, and connect the Filipino-American diaspora. The latest issue, Vol. 20, No. 855 (Nov. 10–23, 2025), carries forward that legacy with inspiring coverage of cultural milestones, community leadership, and modern Filipino life in Southern Nevada.

Highlights from the November 2025 Edition

1. Association of Philippine Physicians in America (APPA) Convention

The cover story honors the 53rd APPA Reunion and Scientific Convention, held at the Tuscany Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas. Filipino-American doctors from across the U.S. gathered to celebrate medical excellence, mentorship, and service, passing the torch to the next generation of Filipino physicians.

2. Filipino-American Civic Action and Leadership

• FACAI Fil-Am Civic Action International Pageant 2026 — crowning five new queens representing empowerment and cultural pride.
• U.S. Filipino Veterans Group 9th Annual Golf Tournament — raising funds for scholarships that benefit local students.
• Lions Club and UP Alumni Association Events — highlighting leadership, service, and educational achievements within the community.

3. Health & Lifestyle: Filipino Wellness Reimagined

Health columns such as Health@Heart and Filipinars provide practical guidance for healthier living. In her new feature “Sarap Without the Spike,” culinary writer Olive Enriquez shares how to enjoy Filipino comfort food while managing diabetes — blending humor, healing, and homegrown flavor.

4. Faith, Art, and Inspiration

In the Faith & Inspiration section, Sis. Olive Manalo Karagdag reflects on “Full Submission to God According to the Holy Word,” reminding readers of spiritual renewal in daily life. Meanwhile, the Business of Art column showcases Las Vegas artist Soniya Scott, whose abstract works are now featured in Nevada galleries and upcoming national exhibits.
