The Philippine Ballet Theatre will perform in Las Vegas for the first time on Saturday, October 31, 2026, presenting “Sarimanok” at 6 p.m. at the West Las Vegas Theatre — the capstone of the valley’s celebration of Philippine American History Month. From an announcement by the Filipino American Heritage Foundation, Philippine Times of Southern Nevada, page D-6. “Sarimanok” is inspired by the colorful and mystical bird of the Maranao people of Mindanao, and the production blends classical ballet with traditional Maranao dance and storytelling. What the Program Features The program includes Singkil, a reimagined traditional dance featuring rhythmic, crisscrossing bamboo poles; Malong, a dance celebrating the versatility of the tubular, handwoven garment worn by Maranao men and women; and Aper, a graceful rhythmic dance traditionally performed by royal court ladies, expressing aristocratic poise and refined manners. Special guest performers include Dr. Raul Sunico, the internationally acclaimed concert pianist and former president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and multi-platinum recording artist Martin Nievera. Dancers Who Came Up Through Scholarships Organizers note that many of the company’s dancers come from families who could not otherwise afford formal ballet training, and reached world-class excellence through scholarships, perseverance, and extraordinary discipline. Their presence in Las Vegas, the foundation says, is both an artistic achievement and a cultural milestone. How to Sponsor The Filipino American Heritage Foundation (FAHF) is accepting sponsorships to help offset production and venue costs: Prima Patron at $5,000, which includes premier recognition in advertising and promotional materials, special recognition from the stage, and 10 prime VIP seats; Soloists Patron at $2,500, with recognition in advertising, recognition from the stage, and six prime seats; and Ballerina Patron at $1,500, with recognition in advertising, recognition from the stage, and four prime seats. Each sponsorship also includes two prime seats to the performance. Checks may be made payable to the Filipino American Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; sponsorships may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The invitation is signed by FAHF President Romualdo Aragon, Jr., MD; Vice President Gloria T. Caoile, who chairs Sarimanok in Las Vegas; and Secretary Minerva Wimperis, co-chair.
