MANILA, May 20 (Mabuhay) — Celebrity couple Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia, who have been together for eight years, recently shared that while marriage is in their future, they feel no pressure to rush into it.

“When it comes to marriage we talk about it… of course ‘yun naman ‘yung goal di ba… Pero there is no pressure and we also don’t pressure ourselves. People around us don’t pressure us as well kasi alam naman namin na dun din naman papunta. We are just taking our time,” Gabbi said in an interview with Karen Davila for her latest YouTube vlog.

Khalil echoed Gabbi’s sentiments, emphasizing that they are both focused on their respective careers at the moment.

“For the both of us kasi since we have our individual careers, I think it’s a matter of kind of weighing the current season in our careers if it’s the right time to actually settle down and get married. We both are aware that it would take a lot of time, siyempre there are wedding prep and everything,” the actor-singer said.

Gabbi added that when the time comes, they know how important it will be to prioritize each other fully. “And you have to prioritize each other talaga [one you get married]. We prioritize each other naman pero ito talaga like top one priority na ang isa’t isa,” the Pinoy Big Brother host stated.

Although they’re not in a hurry, the couple is aligned about the direction of their relationship. “We are not rushing into it but we do talk about it, and we do acknowledge na dun naman kami talaga kami patungo and sooner or later we would have to get married and settle down also,” Khalil said.

The couple was also asked how they managed to overcome the so-called “7-year itch,” a point where many long-term relationships face challenges.

“Parang there’s so many people that were kind of warning us about it na ayan na papalapit na kayo sa seven years, but then since this is our longest relationship, we didn’t really experience it before, so we didn’t think too much about it,” Khalil said.

Gabbi emphasized that one of the keys to their strong relationship is that they are not just a couple, but also the best of friends. “I feel like we have so much fun together. It’s just that. Hindi kami ‘yung couple na masyadong seryoso sa lahat ng bagay. Mag-barkada kami. We’re best friends. We make fun of each other, we play around, we have fun, we enjoy the relationship. It’s not all about romanticizing the relationship and everything, once in a while, para lang kami mag-barkada,” Gabbi shared. (MNS)
