MANILA, May 20 (Mabuhay) — Iya Villania shared what she is most excited about in raising two girls now. The television host has two daughters with husband Drew Arellano: Alana and Anya.
“What excites me the most is being able to travel with them,” she said in an interview with Smart Parenting. “I can’t wait to go on girly trips with them. That’s really what excites me the most.”
In the same interview, Iya was asked how motherhood has shaped her into the person she is today.
“Motherhood has been the most humbling teacher for me. And it’s true that it really exposes a lot about yourself and it exposes a lot of the things that we need to fix within ourselves, so that for me is what motherhood has been,” she remarked.
She acknowledged that while parenting can be overwhelming, her faith and reliance on God have carried her through the toughest days. “It can get very overwhelming, it can get overstimulating, it can get challenging but if you take the time to just be still and talk to God, there’s a lot that He can expose and help you through,” she stated.
Iya added that the experience of raising her children has also strengthened her faith. “I guess the reason why I’ve grown so much in faith is because I know how much of God’s grace has gotten me this far, and when you know how little strength you actually have, you will find the strength that you do have that God can provide, that only He can provide.”
For Iya, the most beautiful part of motherhood goes beyond parenting.
“The most beautiful thing that came out of motherhood is not just my children but for me it’s the faith that it has given me because I see God’s grace in every little face and I would not have made this far if it weren’t for that same grace ’cause it is hard and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the faith that I have now.” (MNS)
